Janet Evanovich Top Secret 21

I just finished reading the latest Stephanie Plum novel. Like the first I ever read, clueless Stephanie, gets the bad guys and manages to get the good guys too. A friend and I had a discussion about Stephanie’s lack of growth and change. As fans, we love Stephanie but as writers, we question the advisability of keeping her the same for so many years. I’ve … Continue reading Janet Evanovich Top Secret 21

The Scandalous Adventures of the Sister of the Bride by Victoria Alexander

I love historical romances, this one is exciting and fun with characters full of interesting quirks and personalities. I loved the historical reference to the motorwagon and Mr. Benz. I enjoyed the verbal sparring between the characters, Delilah and Sam have a lot of sexual tension. The relationship with her sisters and friend were an added twist. There were some slow parts but all in … Continue reading The Scandalous Adventures of the Sister of the Bride by Victoria Alexander

Werewolf Sings the Blues by Jennifer Harlow

A punch to the gut, this newest novel by Jennifer Harlow took me by surprise with its intensity. Unlike the other FREAK books, the humor was minimal but the drama and emotion were at a premium. The heroine, Vivian Dahl is a self-described selfish bitch. Words like love, honor and sacrifice aren’t in her vocabulary. With only herself to depend on most of her life, … Continue reading Werewolf Sings the Blues by Jennifer Harlow

A Shiver of Light by Laurell K Hamilton

This latest offering with main character Merry Gentry aka Princess Meredith shows a softer side of the gutsy, faerie princess. After giving birth most women experience an array of hormone … Continue reading A Shiver of Light by Laurell K Hamilton

The Dead Travel Fast by Deanna Raybourn

This Mira Historical Fiction was released in 2010 so many of you may have already read it. This is a slower paced novel with beautiful descriptions and poetic language. The history and fork lore are woven seamlessly together as to be difficult to know which thread to pull. This is not your typical vampire story, the intensity and discovery are intriguing until the end. The … Continue reading The Dead Travel Fast by Deanna Raybourn
