Fourth of July

As the Fourth of July nears, I have been thinking of what it means to me. As a child, the Fourth was about fire works and watermelons, cook-outs and fun. It wasn’t until I was in college that I learned more of what it cost our forefathers to declare our independence. Many of those who fought for our freedom never recouped their losses. They lost … Continue reading Fourth of July

Father’s Day

Raising six sons, five of whom are fathers gives a new meaning to father’s day. I look at our boys, grown into strong, beautiful men and I know that I am blessed. Death plays her cruel joke teasing and taunting, it threatens to take her only to leave her in pain. What is worse to pray for death yet linger or fear it … Continue reading Death waits for her

I’ve never been great at waiting but with the novel finished and sending it out to agents and editors, I now find myself anxiously waiting to hear something. I know it takes weeks to hear anything but that doesn’t … Continue reading Patience is a Virtue
