I really enjoyed this book. It is the first I’ve read of Samantha Chase but it will not be the last.
 
I attended a Heart of Carolina meeting where Samantha Chase, Reese Ryan and Marquita Valentine spoke. These three amazing writers all boast the label Hybrid Author. This label is when an author is a combination of traditional and independent published.
With the newest bomb dropped by Harlequin Publishing listing the ending of several of their publication series: Harlequin Western, Harlequin Super-romance, Love Inspired Historical, Harlequin Nocturne, and Kimani, it will become even more difficult for beginning romance writers to get picked up by traditional publishers.
 
Indy Publishing has become more important for the reader and the writer. With so many publishers shutting their doors or being absorbed into a larger publishing house, the role of the independent publisher or self-publishing has become greater. But what separates the wheat from the chaff. How can a reader find a good book to read in a world swamped with bad and mediocre books? This is where it is important for readers to leave reviews.
As the world of publishing continues to change, it becomes more important for readers to leave reviews, not just to help authors make another sale but to help readers weed through the overwhelming options.
What will my friends do with the ending of some of Harlequin’s most popular lines? They are good writers and a good story will always find a home. I have no worries that they will find a way to get their novels into the hands of their fans.
