Friendship

Facebook has allowed me to keep in touch with friends from my childhood. I can see photos of husbands I’ve never met and children I’ve not seen since they were new borns. But I still feel a connection with these people who are now grandparents like me. I still see freckled faces and shy toothless grins, skinned knees and bruised hearts. We couldn’t wait to grow up and see the world but what I wouldn’t give to go back and run through woods, swim in the creek and sing at the top our lungs! We can’t go back, that time is gone but the memories live on and those friendships will always be a part of me! “Ollie, ollie, oxen free!”
I have a few good friends from high school, those that know every stupid decision I’ve ever made. Most of the fun stuff they were right there with me so I don’t have to worry about blackmail! These girls I can go for months even years without seeing and as soon as we’re back together again it’s as if we’ve never been a part!
There are a few friends who I consider my sisters, they aggravate me, irritate me, support me, console me and are always there for me! We have different interests but come together to help each other and support each other. We share secrets, advice, recipes and clothes. We take care of each other’s children even if they’re the four-legged kind. We know each other’s families and even spend holidays together. Sometimes we’re not sure who’s family and who’s friends because we love them all the same.
I have been blessed with many friends, two of whom are celebrating birthdays this month. These two friends fall into a new category–writer sisters. We share similar interests, one has become our mentor because of her more vast experience but we each bring elements to the relationship that links us together. I believe it is important to give back to those who give so much to me! Marni and Kay, there is a time in every friendship when you know what the relationship really needs is… minions! For my dear writer sisters, here’s our minions!

Author:

I write suspense with a hot romance and a southern accent. I like strong characters with attitude and charm. Heroines who can rescue themselves and heroes who aren't afraid to love them.
