They say madness and genius often go hand in hand. I think perhaps I am mad or at least delusional. I have joined NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month. The plan to write a fifty (50) thousand word rough draft for a novel. I’ve been saying for two years that I wanted to do it. This year I decided not to think about it, just do it!
I recently sent off my revised novel Chrome Pink to an agent who requested a full manuscript. While that doesn’t mean she’ll want to represent me, it is a step in the right direction. In that vein of hopefulness I am starting the sequel to it during NaNo. The title I’ve chosen for this book is Titanium Blue. My character Tar is an Afghanistan vet who lost part of his leg. PTSD and self-medication caused his wife Jenna to leave him, when she decides to file for divorce he does what he needs to do to earn his family back.
Chrome Pink is the story of Rae Lynne Grimes a survivor of gang rape. A tattooed, foul mouthed, motorcycle riding artist who returns home during her grandfather’s illness. She restores an old Harley and paints it pink for breast cancer awareness. Murder, mayhem and romance disrupt a small town and Rae Lynne finds that true strength comes from sharing herself with those she loves.
Great tease. Hugs, K
