Oh my God, I just finished Jennifer Harlow’s Death Takes a Holiday, what an awesome book. I laughed, I cried, I cheered and grumbled and thoroughly enjoyed this book. I want another one, now! Agent Beatrice Alexander is every girl who worried about her weight or being different. She kicks monster butt and has a really sweet heart. And hot guys, I mean an Irish and an English Vampire with the hots for her, a police officer ex-boyfriend and the Marlboro Man werewolf who makes her toes curl. Made mine curl too.
I never thought I’d fall in love with paranormal fiction but my best friend is an avid reader and our local librarian. She has introduced me to vampires, werewolves, fairies and mermaids. I have found that I enjoy a little something different. My first love will always be historical romances but it is fun to lose myself in a good book.
I am not a sci-fi buff (or I wasn’t), my husband loves Star Trek and Star Wars so it’s rubbed off on me. I’ve started reading and watching things I never thought I’d be interested in before. A good story is a good story.
So for any of you who scoff at monsters and roll your eyes at a butt kicking former kindergarten teacher, try Jennifer Harlow’s books and especially Death Takes a Holiday, it was a fun, fast paced, kick butt book.
