Find Your Joy

Reading James Scott Bell’s Write Your Novel from the Middle I was impressed with his view of ‘What is Voice’ and what does it mean for a writer. I have often wondered what people meant when they said voice. Be true to your voice. Write what you love.

To have a book others want to read, you must first write a book that makes you happy. Your ‘Joy’ Mr. Bell said, it what makes others excited to read your book. If you are not excited about reading your novel, no one else will be either. That joy is translated in your voice and makes it uniquely yours.

If anyone hasn’t checked out James Scott Bell’s Write Your Novel from the Middle I encourage you to do so, it is an excellent read and will help at any stage of novel writing. You can find the book on Amazon and you can also find him as a contributor to Kill Zone.
