Together Again, an anthology
In December 2017 I published my first novel, Chrome Pink. I struggled to market my book and wrote two more books in the following year. By 2019 I was working on my fourth book and still no closer to knowing what I was doing. For many writers who decide to go the indie publishing route, it seems like the easiest way to go. Yes, it’s easy to upload your book on KDP or Draft2Digital, it’s not even that difficult to upload it to Google Play or Ingram Spark, no, the publishing of the book is probably the easiest part of the process.
After you have worried over an idea for a story and finally started writing it, and then rewriting it, editing it, having someone else edit it, do a few more rewrites, then you have to format the book, not to mention designing the cover, deciding on a blurb for the back of your print books and to use in marketing your books. Oh, and don’t forget the description of the book, different from the blurb usually but close, its job is to help sell the book to potential readers. There’s META data, genre, and more marketing stuff. Where do you go for information?
Well, about this time a friend who was also struggling to market her books, Tammy Cooper, had found a new writers’ group on Facebook made of international writers and authors. I joined. The group is great at trying to help members answer many of these questions like how do I market my books, or do I really need a newsletter? I joined just in time to be part of the very first anthology, Love in Bloom. Along the way I have met some wonderful friends, no not in person, but they have been awesome about cheering me onward as I continue to write and grow, we’ve tried to support each other, and we try to help answer all of those confusing problems like should I really do TikTok or not?
When I learned, we were going to have a reunion anthology, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Together Again is the 24th anthology this group has published (it’s due out March 20th). Like the first anthology, this one is for charity, the money raised will go to Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The book will only be available for 3 months and then it will be gone. The book is available for pre-order. I hope you will support me and this great group of writers as we use our talents to raise money for breast cancer research.
