Applegate Mysteries

Welcome to the 1890s

Winnie Applegate is not your average seventeen year old. She is a trick rider and performer in her grandfather’s traveling show, Colonel Bill Dexter’s Wild West Extravaganza. Part English and part Lakota, Winnie struggles to fit into either world. She finds solace in learning, medicine is her greatest passion. If there is a problem, she wants to solve it, seeking answers in a combination of science and native lore.

When her brother, Riley is accused of killing a fellow performer, Winnie is determined to prove his innocence. With the help of a lady Pinkerton agent, and the show’s new rowdy, Winnie finds more than she bargained for including her first love.

A series of sabotages threaten to close the show just as they are preparing to travel to England at the behest of a mysterious benefactor.

How to Sabotage a Wild West Show is the first book in the Applegate Mystery Series, a Victorian Era cozy mystery.
