Do you like your romance novels on the steamy side? Then you will most decidedly like Ms. Hollister’s stories. She has written many series set in Eastern North Carolina where she’s lived most of her life.

Sherri is a gentle soul, so it came as surprise to me that her stories are so spicy. They are good stories and the people in the story all have distinct personalities.

When she is not writing her novels, she is running the local ABC store near her hometown of Aurora, North Carolina, which is so small be sure not to blink or you’ll miss it. Sherri also keeps the books for her husband. And helps any one of her six sons stay atop everyday life.  And runs the Pamlico Writers Group programs.  https://thepamlicowriters.wordpress.com. Her newest series is about a group of young musicians who want make it big in the rock music business. Follow along as they try to succeed with all the ins and outs of life that surround them. The main character of this book, Cypress Jones, a. k. a. Cy, is an awesome guitarist and the lead singer of Flintlock and Steel. But like any good hero, he’s flawed.

He doesn’t believe in himself, nor does he have faith that those who love him really do support him. Just as he and his band are set to become stars, his mother, Victoria, and his girlfriend, Loretta, hide the truth about Victoria’s losing battle with cancer.

When the two women don’t show up for the band’s award-winning performance, Cy interprets their absence as lack of faith in him. And the story goes from there. Loretta, also known as Rhett, ends up having Cy’s baby, but he doesn’t know about the child because he orders his band manager take care of such matters.

Like all good novelists, Sherri keeps the reader in suspense about who knows what and keeps the lovers apart. And the reader is left in suspense as to when Cy will wise up, but the reader will begin to piece together the story-line and the relationships of the various characters.

In addition to the problems Cy and Rhett are dealing with, Rhett is threatened by a town fellow who wants her for himself. Someone she has known all her life.
